Ahumada Jr. Seventh in Silver Jubilee Opener
Carlos Ahumada Jr. returned to the Unites States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) trail on Wednesday night with the opening round of the 25th Anniversary USMTS Silver Jubilee at Mason City (Iowa) Motor Speedway.
The event drew 30 competitors to the Iowa oval. Carlos qualified eighth fastest in his group before advancing to a second-place finish in his heat race. Starting fifth on the feature grid, he raced in the Top 10 throughout the finale before crossing the finish line in the seventh position.
Via his preliminary night performance he locked into the 10th-starting spot for the $25,000-to-win feature on Saturday evening. He went on record an 11th-place finish in the 78-lap feature.
