Ahumada Jr. 14th in Slick Mist Show-Me Shootout
Carlos Ahumada Jr. entered a single United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) event over the weekend with a trip to Lucas Oil Speedway (Wheatland, Mo.) on Saturday evening.
Thirty-eight competitors entered the 11th annual Slick-Mist Show-Me Shootout presented by Foley Equipment, and after qualifying seventh fastest in his group in time trials, Carlos was only able to manage a sixth-place finish in his heat race, which relegated him to a B-Main.
Advancing from fifth-to-third in the B-Main earned Ahumada Jr. the 19th-starting spot for the main event, where he passed five competitors to finish 14th.
Carlos is now 15th in the latest USMTS standings.
