Holland Heads to Humboldt for KOA XII

Chase Holland made the long trek to Humboldt (Kan.) Speedway for the King of America XII with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS).

Action opened on Thursday night with a $3,000-to-win program as 62 competitors crowded the pit area. The night started with Chase qualifying fastest in his group, but his luck went downhill from there with an eighth-place finish in his heat race and a 16th-place finish in his B-Main, which brought his outing to an early end.

After seeing Friday's program nixed by Mother Nature, the $12,000-to-win finale headlined Saturday's event. Chase qualified well with the third-fastest lap in his group before finishing second in his heat race.

Via his performances in preliminary action Holland locked into the 12th-starting spot for the 60-lap finale. While his 20th-place finish in the feature isn't what the Mississippi racer had hoped for, it was still a solid weekend for the team.
