Sixth-place finish in River City Rumble at Park Jefferson

Picking back up with the United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS), Rodney Sanders visited Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, S.D.) on Friday afternoon for the ninth annual River City Rumble. With a third-place finish in his heat race pinning him 11th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win A-Main, Sanders gained five spots in the 35-lapper to finish sixth.

The following night at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa), Rodney jumped up one spot in his heat race to pick up the eight-lap victory. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Sanders was challenging for a podium spot when contact with another competitor sent him around. He came from the tail of the field to finish 22nd.

Rodney slipped back to second in the latest USMTS point standings.
