Ramirez notches podium finish in River City Rumble at Park Jefferson

Friday night found Dereck Ramirez in action at Park Jefferson Speedway (Jefferson, S.D.) for the ninth annual River City Rumble. In a field of 33 United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) entries, Ramirez gained one spot in his heat race to finish second behind Tyler Davis. With $10,000 on the line in the feature, Dereck passed four cars in the 35-lap affair to register a third-place finish. He trailed Jake O’Neil and Tyler Wolff across the line with Lucas Schott and Dan Ebert rounding out the Top-5.

For the Webster City Wrangle on Saturday at Hamilton County Speedway (Webster City, Iowa), Dereck came in third in his heat, which positioned him 12th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win finale. Charging forward six spots in the 35-lapper, Ramirez notched a sixth-place finish.

Dereck has taken over the lead in the USMTS point standings.
