Fall Jamboree brings Ramirez to Deer Creek Speedway

Dereck Ramirez traveled to Deer Creek Speedway (Spring Valley, Minn.) on Thursday to kick off the Fall Jamboree weekend with the United States Racing Association (USRA). Following a seventh-place finish in his heat, Dereck passed six cars in his B-Main to finish third. Starting the preliminary feature in 22nd, Ramirez jumped up six spots to finish 16th.

On Friday as the remainder of the weekend became United States Modified Touring Series (USMTS) sanctioned, Ramirez gained three spots in his heat to pick up the victory. Carrying a steady pace throughout the 40-lap feature, Dereck notched a sixth-place finish.

To wrap up the weekend on Saturday, Dereck’s sixth-to-third run in his heat race pinned him 14th on the starting grid for the $10,000-to-win finale. Wheeling his way into a podium spot, Ramirez passed 12 cars in the 50-lap affair to register a second-place finish. He followed Jake O’Neil to the checkers with Dustin Sorensen, Tanner Mullens, and Brooks Strength rounding out the Top-5.

Dereck holds a 62-point advantage over Jake O'Neil atop the latest USMTS point standings.
